Happy Autumn DIY Canvas Tutorial
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! From the crisp air to the vibrant colors, I love everything about this gorgeous season. And crafting beautiful things to echo mother nature’s beauty is no exception. Fall is always the perfect time to hang out inside and craft up something awesome. This canvas is quick and easy and only uses a handful of supplies.
What you’ll need:
8x8” piece of cardboard
Acrylic paint: ivory, green, lt. orange, brown and orange
Black paint pen
Alcohol ink: orange and yellow
Paint brush
Chipboard leaf
Paper or fabric leaf
8x10” lt. brown cardstock
Sharpie
Stencil
Twine
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Paint your cardboard ivory.
While the cardboard is still wet paint a few random vertical and horizontal orange stripes on the cardboard.

Drip random spots of alcohol ink around the cardboard. Let dry slightly.
Randomly paint the stench around the cardboard.
Paint a few random vertical and horizontal ivory stripes on the cardboard. Let dry completely.
Paint a large circle or “pumpkin shape” in the center of the cardboard. If you’re paint is really thin, paint the pumpkin several times. Let dry completely.
Trace the pumpkin with the paint pen and add in segment lines.
Cut a 2x10” cardstock rectangle.
Fold each end backwards at 1 /2”.
Fold each end forward 1/4” passed the 1/2” fold to create the banner.
Cut each edge into two points to create the banner shape.
Outline the banner with Sharpie and write your phrase in the center.
Adhere the banner in place over the pumpkin.
Adhere both leaves to the top of the pumpkin like a stem.
Adhere the twine around the edge of the cardboard to create a boarder.
Optional: cut a 6” piece of twine and fold in half. Adhere to the back of the canvas as a hanger.
Happy crafting,
Misty
