Getting the Perfect Print Size
Now that you’ve had a basic run down of print styles and how to choose the best ones, we’re going to talk size. Anyone who says “size doesn’t matter” clearly didn’t have a photography project in mind. Size is super important when printing your photos and all depends on the specific project you’re working on.
Sometimes it’s hard to know what the right print size is. Like most of us, you may feel overwhelmed by the vast amount of choices. Or maybe you just don’t know where to begin with the project you’ve chosen.
Today I’m here to help you figure it out and pick the perfect size for your project.
Working on a scrapbook, photo album, or wall grid?
Small photos in a 4x6” or 5x7” are best for these types of projects. They are the perfect mix and match sizes to compliment any album style and are pretty inexpensive to switch out in your wall grid.
Thinking about a gallery wall?
Try 8×10”s. They are the perfect size to complement most standard spaces without overwhelming or cluttering it and can be changed out pretty easily when you want to update.
Creating a feature wall?
This will vary depending on your wall space, but to make an impact, use medium and large prints like 11×14”s and 16×20”s. They will create an amazing focal point to any room.
Showing off your love of the outdoors?
If you have the space, landscapes and nature prints deserve to be big. Have fun and go for the 20×24″s or larger. Show off all those gorgeous colors and natural beauty, your guests are sure to be envious.
‘til next time,
Misty
