DIY Explore Sign Tutorial
Papercrafting is a cool way to design easy decor for your home. This cute DIY summer themed sign can be made in minutes with minimal supplies.
What you’ll need":
Pencil, ruler, utility knife or a Cricut machine
2 pieces of different patterned cardstock
Foam dots/stripes
Paper trimmer
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Dowel rods
Acrylic paint
Paint brush
Cardboard
Sharpie
Wire Cutters or pruning shears
Glue
Hand-cut or use a Cricut to create the word on a piece of patterned cardstock.
Cut the paper 3/4” bigger than the word all the way around, making sure to center the word on the page.
Cut the second patterned cardstock into a rectangle, matching the size of the first.
Cut a piece of cardboard 1/2x1/2” bigger than the cardstock rectangle.
Adhere the cardstock rectangle into the center of the cardboard.
Run a sharpie around the edge of each letter in the word to create more definition.
Use foam dots/stripes to adhere the word to the cardstock rectangle so the pattern shows through the letters.
Cut two pieces of 1/4” dowel rod the length of the cardboard minus 1/2”.
Cut two pieces of 1/4” dowel rod the width of the cardboard.
Paint all dowel rods and let dry.
Glue one small dowel rod at each end of the cardboard.
Glue one long dowel rod at the top and bottom of the cardboard. These pieces should sit snuggly in-between the two end pieces creating a frame.
