DIY Tea Dyed Greeting Cards Tutorial
Crafting with natural dyes is so much fun! You can use foods, flowers, weeds, bark, moss, leaves, seeds, mushrooms, lichens and even minerals to color anything from paper to fabric. The creative possibilities are endless when you’re exploring natural dyes. With summer in full swing, I thought it’d be fun to create tea-dyed greeting cards. They are quick, easy and only use a couple of supplies leaving you plenty of time to enjoy those other summer projects.
What you’ll need:
Tea bags
Hot water
Bowl
Card bases
White cardstock
Paper trimmer
Paper towels
Stamps
Stazon Ink pad
All-purpose glue
Cut or purchase card bases.
Cut white cardstock 1/4x1/4” smaller than the card base.
Make a pot of tea and pour it into a bowl.
Soak the white cardstock pieces in the tea for 3-6 hours.
Remove cardstock from tea and dry on paper towels for 24 hours.
Stamp your images onto the cardstock with Stazon ink.
Adhere the cardstock to the card bases.
Happy Crafting,
Misty
