3 Must See Waterfalls
There are so many beautiful places in Oregon worth visiting, so how do you narrow it down? For me, it’s all about the photography. I’m constantly on the lookout for gorgeous places I can set up my camera and capture all the things, both big and small, that make a place truly amazing.
Here are three beautiful places I just can’t get enough of. They never fail to take my breath away every time I visit.
Proxy Falls- Also known as Lower Proxy Falls, is a 226 foot waterfall that stems from a collection of springs on the shoulder of North Sister and plunges into a canyon near McKenzie Pass in the Willamette National Forest. It is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in Oregon and you can walk right up and touch it if you feel like getting wet.
Koosah Falls- Also known as Middle Falls, is a 64 foot waterfall along the McKenzie River, in the heart of the Willamette National Forest. Though you can’t get to the bottom of this gorgeous waterfall (please observe and respect the boundaries) it is well worth your time. Often rainbows can be seen dancing over the falls.
Sahalie Falls- is a 73 foot waterfall plunging over a natural lava dam along the McKenzie River. It is accessible along the same loop as Koosah Falls and makes an amazing day trip. Please observe and respect the boundaries that are set up to protect both people and nature.
