Chasing Dreams
Have you ever had a dream? One you wanted so badly you couldn't think about anything else but making it a reality? One that you're so passionate about you share it with everyone you meet?
Me too! I've spent the last 2 years dreaming of the day my creative arts retreat center opens. I want to share creativity with the world and I can't wait to get started. Growing up and well into my life, I had no idea what I wanted to be...to be perfectly honest I don't even remember anyone ever asking me that question. Teaching was definitely not on my mind and a life of creativity seemed out of the realm of "making a living".
But now my creative place is all I can think about. It consumes my day dreams, sleeping dreams and nearly every waking moment of my life. It's what I want more than anything and now I'm chasing that dream as fast as I can!
As a busy woman I know how hard it can be to carve out creative time. We are always on the go and it's easy to become bogged down in all the "crazy" life throws our way. We have to remember that time for ourselves, fun, relaxation and creativity are imperative to our wellbeing. Life's too short not to enjoy.
I love talking about my retreat center, what it's going to be like and why I want to build it. Every penny I make from my art and workshops go straight into my retreat jar. I can see it so clearly; sometimes it's hard to remember it doesn't actually exist yet. It already feels so real to me and I know one day it will be.
It will be a place of beauty and peace, totally at one with nature where creativity is shared with all women, no matter their experience levels or innate creative abilities. Creativity is a very personal thing and no two people do anything alike. Everyone has their own personal style which is what makes creatives so very special, each of you is truly unique!
Love and creativity will mingle in perfect harmony here. Friendships will be made and life will be enjoyed in everyday moments. I strongly believe that everyone, and I mean everyone, is creative on some level whether they know it or not and sometimes we just need a safe space and some encouragement to see it. And I want to be there when it is found and shared with the world!
If your heart calls to you, listen. Keep chasing those dreams! No matter what they are. You'll find your way!
