Best Print Style for Every Room
With summer just around the corner and big adventures being planned out I figured a few posts on photography could be beneficial so I’ll be posting several over the next few months.
Not only do I carry my cell phone on all my adventures to capture those sharable moments, but I’ve always got my Nikon in hand as well. If you’re like me, you take dozens (okay okay hundreds) of photos on your trips and you probably want to print several for your home. I always want the perfect prints and sometimes choosing can be overwhelming.
So, here’s a brief run down on the available print styles and some of their benefits to help make it easier for you to choose what’s best for your space.
Kitchen: Canvas Prints
Canvases are great for any room, including the kitchen because they’re printed on high quality materials making (most of) them easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. Plus, canvases are timeless and can be hung with or without a frame. So, fling that pasta sauce across the room, your canvas should be safe.
Bathroom: Metal Prints
Metal prints are currently the most unique wall decor option. They are extremely vibrant making them perfect for sunsets, flowers and travel photos. Plus metal prints are resistant to both water and dust making them perfect for bathrooms. You don’t need to worry about your photo rusting or reacting to your steamy shower.
Bedroom and Living Room: Framed Prints
Framed prints are extremely versatile and come with thousands of frame choices, making it easy to match your decor. Plus, purchases including frames make it very easy to simply switch out the photograph on your next update.
Entryway and Office: Acrylic
Acrylic is the most versatile way to go. They can be purchased as blocks for your desk or table or wall decor. They are professionally constructed to last for years. Plus, they are easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Playroom/Nursery: Mounted Prints
Mounted prints are available with several lightweight mounting options including: matboard, foamcore, gatorboard, etc. so you never have to worry about your little ones around falling art.
