DIY Avocado Dyed Greeting Card Tutorial
Avocados are one of my favorite summertime yummies. Not only are they delicious and healthy for you but what most people don’t know is that they can also be used as a natural dye source. So, for today I thought it’d be fun to create a greeting card with avocado dye. It’s quick, easy and only uses a couple of avocado pits so you don’t even have to waste an avocado.
What you’ll need:
Avocado pits
Hot water
A pot
Bowl
Card bases
White cardstock
Paper trimmer
Paper towels
Stamps
Stazon Ink pad
All-purpose glue
Pens (optional)
Create or purchase card bases.
Cut white cardstock 1/4x1/4” smaller than the card base.
Boil a pot of water with 3-4 avocado pits for about 30 minutes.
Pour the avocado water it into a bowl and discard the pits.
Soak the white cardstock pieces in the avocado water for 3-6 hours.
Remove cardstock from water and dry on paper towels for 24 hours.
Stamp your images onto the cardstock with Stazon ink.
Color in your images if desired.
Adhere the cardstock to the card bases.
