Your Next Upcycling Project

Your Next Upcycling Project Pinable

Have you been craving a new, inspiring project? Maybe you’ve got so many ideas bouncing around in your head you’re completely overwhelmed.

Well take a deep breath, I’ve got you covered with these four tips to get you started and on your way to upcycling bliss.

LOVE it:

This is the most important thing about an upcycling project. It must speak to you, if it doesn’t you won’t pour your heart and soul into it, and it probably won’t turn out as “perfect” and fulfilling as you’d expect. Pick that one idea that grabs your attention more than the others. If you’re looking for something new, walk the thrift store aisles ‘til you find that item that makes you scream “I have to have this”.

Budget:

Consider what supplies you will need to finish your project. Sometimes a project isn’t in our means when we want to work on it and we need to put it in the later pile. Something else to consider is what kind of new skills or training you might need to do your project and if they cost money.

Time:

There never seems to be enough time to do all the things we want. Consider how long your project will take you. Sometimes a project we are dying to do just isn’t in the cards at the moment. You may also need to consider the time investing in new skills or training will take.

Occasion:

Is there a holiday, special occasion or other event that’s coming up you could use for inspiration? Maybe someone needs a gift made or that table you saw would make the perfect accent for a Christmas party. Letting seasons and holidays inspire your projects can relieve a lot of pressure from having to choose.

Look around:

Sometimes the easiest way to find a new project is to look at the things you’ve already got. Perhaps that dresser could use an update. Maybe you go through a ton of baby food and have lots of leftover jars laying around. Get creative and let your things inspire you.
