Soul Singing Color

I love color! All kinds of color but bright vibrant colors are by far my favorites. I've always been drawn to vibrancy. Just looking at something colorful puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart. It's why I simply adore fresh blooms in the spring and of course autumn's gorgeous color change.

It's no wonder so much of my art showcases a variety of color. Growing up I was in LOVE with Lisa Frank stuff. How could anyone not be with her adorable characters and to die for colors! Just seeing her artwork instantly flashes me back to my childhood and the notebooks I used to carry around. But now I'm all grown up and guess what?

I still LOVE Lisa Frank stuff!! That's never going to change. I've been know to purchase her notebooks when I see them then once I'm done using them I tear off the covers and cut it down to size for framing. Several of her uplifting pieces hang in my studio today. Inspiring me each time they catch my eye.

It's nice to remember a time when adulating wasn't necessary. When happiness was easier and I was free to just be without the pressures of the world on my shoulders. These cherished treasures remind me that life doesn't have to be so complicated or serious. That sometimes I just need to stop and enjoy the little things and that the joys we find in childhood can grow with us and keep us young at heart.
