When I started my mixed media journey, I had no clue how to begin or what supplies to use. The sheer mass of materials available had my mind on overload, dreaming of all the possibilities. But soon I realized the true beauty of mixed media lies in the endless freedom to play and experiment.

Each piece taught me something new like color blending, how different materials reacted together, and how unexpected elements could bring a piece to life. The journey was a wild ride of self-expression and creativity, unlocking doors I never knew existed.

What is Mixed Media?

If you’re area doesn’t offer in person classes, you can always head online. There’s a treasure trove of online workshops at your fingertips. Plus, YouTube's got a smorgasbord of free knowledge just waiting for you to dive in.

Keep in Mind

Experimentation is key: Don’t be afraid to try new things like techniques and materials. Mixed media is your playground, so let curiosity be your guide and push those boundaries with childlike wonder.

Start with something you love: Choose a main element for your artwork and build around it. Whether it's a bold color, a quirky object, a standout background, or your favorite doodle, this will tie your artwork together like a charm.
