DIY Feather Wall Hanging Tutorial
I love incorporating nature into my crafts, not only is it fun but also therapeutic. It gets me outside exploring and enjoying Mother nature’s bounty. It’s an amazing way to reconnect with nature and it helps me see all the beautiful things the world offers right in my very own back yard.
This lovely wall hanging is quick and easy to make with minimal supplies.
What you’ll need:
Sticks
Feathers
Twine
Beads
Paint brush
Acrylic
Scavenge three sticks
Scavenge five discarded feathers. Please be aware that there are laws against collecting certain feathers, especially if they will be sold.
Layout your tree sticks in a triangle.
Wrap twine around each stick junction and tie to secure.
Wrap a length of twine around each feather and tie to secure.
Add beads to the twine just above the feather.
Repeat steps five and six with remaining feathers.
Wrap each length of twine around the bottom of your triangle, equal distance apart, and tie to secure.
Tie a good-sized knot at the end of four lengths of twine.
Add beads above the knots.
Wrap each length of twine around the bottom of your triangle, in between the feathers, and tie to secure.
Wrap a length of twine around the top junction and tie to secure. This allows for hanging.
If you are happy with your wall hanging you can stop here. If you’d like to add a bit more color like I did, use a small brash and acrylic to paint stripes on the sticks.
Happy Crafting,
Misty
