Time needed: 10 minutes

Every year after a long and dreary winter, I always look forward to spring and summer. All those beautiful flowers blooming, the fresh air and warm sunshine, make my spirit downright giddy! I love getting to incorporate mother nature into my work and bring more of her beauty inside. Today’s project is absolutely perfect for that! Quick and easy window pots create lovely focal points for your favorite sun-loving plants, are easy to maintain and can be relocated anytime you want.

  1. Remove bottle label.

  2. Clean and dry bottle.

  3. Cut the top portion of the bottle off, so you’re left with a cup.

  4. Sandpaper the top edge of bottle.

  5. Drill two holes across from each other at the top edge of the bottle.

  6. Cut a 12” piece of wire.

  7. Attach one side of the wire through a hole and twist together.

  8. Repeat step 7 on the other side.

  9. Form a loop at the top center of the wire by twisting together.

  10. Fill the bottom third of the bottle with small rocks.

  11. Fill the rest of the bottle with dirt and your plants/flowers.

  12. Attach twine through the center loop. Length will depend on the window size and how long you want them to hang.

  13. Repeat steps 1-12 on all remaining bottles.

  14. Tie all bottles to the curtain rod and let hang in the window.
