DIY Bottle Light Tutorial
Being able to see the countless possibilities an item can become is truly amazing. The inspiration, creativity and imagination needed to see such things is a seriously awesome talent.
Not only is it incredibly fun to play around with but developing the skill can lead to so many new treasures and creative pursuits.
Take for example this normal little water bottle, with the right tools and some imagination it transforms into a beautiful spring light.
What you’ll need:
Plastic bottle
Scissors
Utility knife
Mod Podge, decoupage or gel medium
Foam brush
12x12 cardstock
Twine
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Drill
Strand of small lights
Remove all labeling from the bottle and wash thoroughly.
Cut the cardstock to cover the entire bottle.
Using Mod Podge, Decoupage or gel medium; adhere the paper to the bottle.
Cut the paper at 1/2” intervals around the top of the bottle so the paper can lay flat. Adhere to the bottle and let dry.
Cut out small design elements to allow more light through. This depends on the paper you chose.
Wrap twine around the bottle top, gluing in place as you go.
Drill a hole through the bottom of the bottle.
String the lights into the bottle from the bottom and glue into place at the top of the bottle.
Happy Crafting,
