Hey y’all! As you know I just made my grand debut in Somerset Studio magazine! That’s my fourth publication with fabulous Stampington and Company, and I often get asked questions on how to snag a spot in their gorgeous magazines.

So today, I wanted to share a bit of insight and some of the things I’ve picked up along my publication journey!

  1. Do Your Homework

First things first, you’ve gotta dive into the delightful world of Stampington & Company magazines firsthand to uncover their unique style! They currently offer eleven different magazines, and each one has its own aesthetic style. Take a stroll through their latest issues to soak up the vibes, themes, and fabulous artwork the love!

2. Showcase Your Talent

Next up on the creative checklist: submit projects that not only showcase your own style but also resonates with the magazine's audience. Experiment with different techniques and materials to develop pieces that stand out and showcase your creativity. When it comes to submitting your work, make sure to follow the magazine's guidelines carefully. Get those images formatted properly and include all the juicy info they require, Attention to detail can make a significant difference in how your submission is received. Along with the submission guidelines, they also toss out some exciting themes for future issues. Picking one of these themes can definitely boost your chances of getting published! And don’t forget to peek at those submission deadlines—timing is everything, y’all!

Lastly, don’t let fear rejection rain on your parade. Every creative soul has faced rejection and guess what? It’s the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!   • If you want more than a single page spread send in multiple projects showcasing your technique.

  • They love projects that incorporate little bits of fabric, remnants and texture

  • When submitting, consider jazzing up your box or envelope in a fun, artsy way. It’s a great way to catch their eye from the get-go!
