Thrive Canvas

We are all dealt bad situations in life sometimes. It's just a fact of life but remember those trials are what make us who we are. I'm a firm believer that it's our own personal choice to continue being the victim or to rise above the hands we've been dealt. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of how hard (traumatic, violent, desperate hopeless and a thousand other things) a situation can feel when you are smack-dab in the middle of it but ultimately YOU are in control of your life.

I know in the deepest part of my soul that's true, but if your like me, you still need a reminder sometimes. Something positive to keep you going and remind you that you're the one behind the wheel (or holding the pencil, if you'd rather).

Thrive was made just for that reason. It means to prosper or flourish and that is exactly what I intend to do no matter what comes my way.

It's a simple canvas with an easy no muss-no fuss technique that's just perfect for days when crafting is a must but massive projects are a no-go. Start with your canvas and several of your favorite colors. Now just paint random patches and stripes of various colors anywhere you want on the canvas make sure to layer your colors. Once you're satisfied with your pattern grab a stencil (bubble wrap, cardboard or anything else that makes a cool pattern) and add a few randomly into your design.

From here you're gonna wanna add a phrase you love that will remind you where you're going or what you've already overcome. And because I LOVE LOVE LOVE embellishments (especially dimensional ones) I threw in some fluttering butterflies.

For these I simply stamped my image onto clear acetate, cut 'em out and glued them on with super glue. Easy-peasy right! A beautiful way to remember that I will overcome all obstacles thrown my way.

Happy crafting,

Misty
