Incorporating Mother Nature

Mother nature is an amazing inspiration for life and creativity. Every time I step out my door I’m inspired to stop and admire the flowers or clouds, to dig in the fresh dirt and grow something beautiful, to hike and explore all her boundless beauty. Not only do I love incorporating nature into my life in every possible way but I also LOVE incorporating her into my creativity.

From working with sticks to collaging with leaves mother nature offers endless possibilities to get creative. Below I’ve compiled a small list of ways you can explore mother nature and incorporate her into your creativity too!

Dyeing with natural elements

There are dozens of natural elements that can be turned into dyes like: coffee, tea, cabbage, beets, etc. Experiment with different colors to find your favorites. (I’ll be writing a future post in finer detail of all the items to try out).

Crafting with natural elements

So many things right in your back yard can be used to create like: dirt, sticks, rocks, leaves, feathers, etc. Go on a scavenger hunt around your yard to see what you can find and create something beautiful with it. Add some dirt to your painting for texture, make a leaf collage, use a thistle to create a mold. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

DIY Natural Wall Hanging

Over the next few months, I will be adding more tutorials and in-depth posts about this topic until then I hope you have fun finding new ways to incorporate mother nature into your crafting.

Happy Crafting,

Misty
