Winter crafting doesn’t always have to be about Christmas or New Years. Why not celebrate winter with some beautiful season inspired crafting instead. These little lightboxes are easy to customize and can be made in minutes with all your favorite designs.

Supplies:

Cardboard box

Twine

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Strand of lights

Utility knife

Stencils

Acrylic paint

Paint brushes

Vellum

Lightbox
  1. Draw your stencil onto the box.

  2. Cut out the stenciled image.

  3. Paint the box and let dry. May require several layers.

  4. Cut a piece of vellum large enough to cover the stenciled image.

  5. Glue the vellum inside the box behind the stenciled image.

  6. Put your lights inside the box and glue shut. If you are using lights with a battery pack, you may want to poke a hole in the back of the box and string your lights through so the battery pack is left on the outside.

  7. Glue twine around the top edge of the box.

  8. Use a piece of twine to create a “hanger” and glue to the back, if you want your box to hang on the wall.
