Flattened pine branch, fern leaf or anything that resembles a Christmas tree.
Clean and lightly sand the wood block.
Brew a cup of tea and a cup of coffee.
Fill one spray bottle with tea and another with coffee.
Randomly spray the tea and the coffee over the script cardstock, leaving for a couple of seconds to absorb.
Pat the script cardstock dry with a paper towel and let dry completely.
Repeat step 4 & 5 as many times as desired until you love your cardstock. Keep in mind that less is often more though.
Tear the script cardstock into pieces.
Using the gel medium, adhere the script cardstock to the wood block any way you desire and let dry completely. Gel medium will be 100% clear (not milky) when completely dry.
Spread a 1/8” or so thick layer of gel medium over the entire front of the piece.
Position your flattened branch/leaf where desired and lightly press into the gel medium. Let dry completely.
Spread a 1/8-1/4” thick layer of gel medium over the entire front of the piece, covering the branch/leaf and let dry completely.
Paint small red ornaments around the tree branches and let dry. You can also substitute cardstock ornaments for more dimension if desired.
Paint small white highlights on all ornaments and let dry.
Draw small black hooks at the top of each ornament and let dry.
Draw gold garland around the tree and let dry. You can also substitute twine for more dimension if desired.
Drip slightly watered down white acrylic randomly over the piece.
Stamp your phrase onto a piece of watercolor paper. Cut into a small rectangle around your phrase.
Use the coffee and tea to color the phrase tag and let dry completely.
Ink the sides of the phrase tag.
Add white highlights to the phrase tag if desired.
Adhere the phrase tag where desired.
