There’s always something fun about playing with Tim Holtz distress inks.
I love the beautiful, unexpected textures and patterns they create so much and seeing all the different variations they create. Using them to make greeting cards is a great way to create unique one-of-a-kind messages for all your family and friends. The best part is they can be customized to fit any occasion.
Get started with the simple supply list and step-by-step instructions below.
Supplies:
Distress inks- 2 or 3 colors
Paint pens
Water
White cardstock
Paper glue or tape runner
Cut a 6x8” rectangle.
Fold in half to create a 4x6” card base. Set aside.
Cut a 3.5x5.5” rectangle.
Rub the distress inks onto the 3.5x5.5” rectangle anyway you choose.
Spray or flick water onto the surface of the inks and let sit for a minute.
Dab the remaining water off with a dust free piece of fabric.
Let the .5x5.5” inked rectangle dry completely before moving on. You can speed this up with a heat gun or hair dryer.
Use the paint pens to write “thank you” across the front of the inked rectangle (you can also use a stamp if you’d rather).
Adhere the inked rectangle to the card base.
